Outstanding photo set, Leslie. Stay safe and, as always, wishing you the best. Amazing terrain with lots of variety. Makes it more enjoyable. Every corner is anticipated . Every next corner is an incentive. I can relate at a much slower pace. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks friends! Rolled into Ague Dolce yesterday and Hiker Heaven. Keeping on rollin' towards Wrightwood! All is well.
Rockin'! So great to meet you - nice to chat with a peer and a woman and start me off down the trail on a bright note. Thanks!
I haven't been homesick much - but of course, I miss my Keith. I've said frequently, "there's a big difference between being alone or being lonely". For the most part, I've been alone but doing well on the loneliness. And now, the "finish line" is within sight! Still trying to keep it day by day and savour the moment.
Barry - part of the fun of the trail is I actually pay very little attention to the maps! These days - I'll look to see distances between water sources and that's about it. It is truly a surprise every day. The desert has been very surprising - the time spent on the flats was very brief and now, it's back to the mountains! And the Angeles Crest is big and beautiful. Surprise!
The Happy Dance continues...I now do it several times a day to let off some steam. It's funny, without anyone to talk to there's a surprising amount of built up tension - it's not stress - but sort of stress which is weird considering I'm out enjoying a beautiful trail. It's also just plain fun and reminds me to keep it that way and again, enjoy the moment.
You're really moving! Hooray! Again, let us know when you are in San Diego county and need help getting back in to San Diego proper. We're ready to come out and hike with you to Mexico, so let us know when and where to meet you.
WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Congrats, girl! You've got it in the bag! Soooo incredibly glad to see that you made it through the Sierras in beautiful weather and just before the snow flew- the rest of the trail will be a cakewalk! Everyone on the trail knew that you were cutting the timing close; I'm delighted to see that you powered through and made it through before the weather window closed!

Great to meet you at Little Jimmy Spring on Saturday. I'm Craig, who was with Gary and Ann. You take great pics, by the way. I'm going to check out your blog more when I have a chance. I'll comment again.
I really enjoyed meeting you at Little Jimmy Spring on Saturday, Oct. 27. I'm Craig; I was with Gary and Ann. You looked like you were doing a day hike, not in the last 400 miles of the PCT. Great pics of the Sierra, by the way. I'll keep track of your progress--good luck!
Leslie, sorry for the repetitive comments--I'm in the older age bracket where I'm basically clueless about all this; I hope you enjoyed Big Bear--San Gorgonio next, right?
Not sure where you are exactly, but I hike around the Los Angeles area and would be happy to meet you up near San Gorgonio or San Jacinto if you need supplies or want company for a few miles. Planning to be out that way this weekend (Nov. 3/4) anyway. Here's my blog:
