So, the cold weather continues and so do I. When the scenery is this good, it makes it easier to stay motivated and get out for a run. Still, the mind turns to other places at this time of year. Historically, I've managed to take "running" holidays in March and April. As much as I love winter and embrace it, a little break from winter may be in order.
Enjoy a few images from yesterday's run....

Beautiful photos as always. What would Banff be like in October?
I am sooooo looking forward to seeing you guys next month at the Rumble in my quaint little town! You are correct when you stated in a previous post that the Rumble, Sisters, and I are all closely connected. And although the trails are currenlty under snow, I promise the course will be snow-free on race day. Hopefully. But it definitely won't be -26 or -30 (but likely -5 at the start; just so you know, around here we refer to that as 25:).
Your backyard never fails to deliver. Thank goodness you don't hibernate when the temps are extreme! Just love viewing your last 3 posts. Keep running.
Looks like you need a little vaca in Ojai. ;-)
Seriously, we are going to miss you two this year. I have "connections" if you find a good airfare within the next couple days...

Hi Mary! Aha! I've got you smitten with Banff. I've got to say, for a hiking girl like you September would be the magic month. October is shoulder-season, great if you want to relax and enjoy a beautiful place, but not-so-great if you want to hike. That being said, there's always something for the adventurous and the prepared here - even in October. Drop me a note if you've got any questions!
Hiya Mr. Meissner! We're excited, too!! Can't wait to get to know Sisters, your backyard trails and have a visit. We're stoked.
Hi Helen! Thanks. I'm thinking about a visit to your corner of the world in the fall. It's early in the planning stage.
A generous offer Sue! Thanks! Unfortunately, no howling at the moon for me this year. But, I did find a "last minute" airfare, but it's to Reno, Nevada. Whoooop! Any holiday is a good holiday, right? So it looks like I've got adventures planned for a week in March, April, May AND June. I get to see some NEW places this year! Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota...Yoooopee!
Ooooh, Kendra. I try and trudge with "purpose"! Except when it's that time of the month. Then, I just trudge. How is my favorite super-fit, 50 year old, Cross-Fit, trail running, delightful, entertaining, witty friend?
*Trudge-On!!!*

Amazing photographs!!!
I love the raven shot. The ravens voice is awesome; it's one of many things that I missed while living in Missouri.
still trudging . . .
hiya Dirt Proof! Welcome to Banff. It's about as far away as NYC as you could possible imagine! Good to see you get out and get yourself some "dirt therapy" - it'll keep you sane!
Hi Deanna! What? No Ravens in Missouri? I guess not! They are mutants here in Banff - they carry away small children on a regular basis. :) Guard your poodle with care.
I'm off to go trudging in deep snow....
