Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Good Grief. Time is passing me by.

"Rawhide" it's my new them song for my long runs...

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Keep movin', movin', movin',
Though they're disapprovin',
Keep them doggies movin' Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just rope and throw and grab 'em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Boy my heart's calculatin'
My true love will be waitin', be waiting at the end of my ride.

Move 'em on, head 'em up,
Head 'em up, move 'em out,
Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!
Set 'em out, ride 'em in
Ride 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in Rawhide.

Full Lyrics

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rawhide!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them dogies rollin'
Rawhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin',
Good vittles, love, and kissin',
Are waiting at the end of my ride

CHORUS
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Rawhide
Count 'em out, ride 'em in,
Ride 'em in, count 'em out,
Count 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhide!

Keep movin', movin', movin'
Though they're disapprovin'
Keep them dogies movin'
Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em
Just rope, throw, and brand 'em
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My hearts calculatin'
My true love will be waitin',
Be waitin' at the end of my ride.

Rawhide!
Rawhide!

It's been a busy couple of weeks. This past weekend I eased off the training and squeezed in a road trip to visit the parents in Wyndell, B.C. My parents sure do live in a beautiful place. I live in a little bubble here in Banff, with the crazy mountain weather and climate. It's always shocking to find flowers and a world so green, alive and moist only 5 hours South of Banff.

It sure was nice to take it easy for a few days, but I did enjoy a great run through the Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area - a great new discovery. I don't know the trails in this area at all. More importantly, I had great company! My friend Erin Delude - Trans Rockies alumni and all-round nice girl - joined me for a early morning run. It was awesome. Erin has just moved to Northern Idaho, a mere 30 minutes from my parents place. It's always good to connect with the running peeps and breathe some fresh air together. Amen, sista.

So, we're rollin' rollin' rollin'. Last weekend of training coming up fast and furious! I'm looking forward to having some more good company this weekend and getting out and exploring some pretty places....

I AM SO STOKED!!!

Gretchen - I've been dreaming of Waldo for a few years. It sounds like the perfect Leslie race, at the perfect time of year. I would especially like to join your crew for a fun weekend of Girly Power! But alas, this year Team Banff Trail Trash is making appearance #4 at Trans Rockies on the same weekend. But I know our you and I have some adventures together in the future!
