The Lake Minnewanka shoreline trail is always the first trail to open up due to its incredible South exposure. It gets lots of Sunshine, Sunshine and Sunshine. It's also the first place where the bears wake up so we dusted off the bear spray and were making lots of noise!
I'm not sure which was more fun, the trail running on dry(ish!) trail or the running on exceptionally grippy ice! We didn't have to worry about the bears on the ice and it was a pretty great spring run.
Hope y'all are out enjoying a great spring weekend!
I can't wait to run across the lake with y'all this summer! :-) Enjoy those trails responsibly.
ReplyDeleteWhy hello, is that my studly friend Bryon who just rocked the Marathon des Sables? I hope you sported your trend setting ensemble of "dress shirt and running shorts" whilst in Morocco for all of the ladies out there.
ReplyDeleteThat looks absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying for dry trails! All my favorite trails are still covered with slushy snow. I would even be happy with ice instead of mush.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great time of year to be living in the mountains! You can ski tour, trail run, and golf all in the same day!

You know what ELSE you can do GR?? Just wait, I'm getting the next post up....
